New Year’s 2011/2012

After having managed a wonderful Christmas, it was now time for our first whole week at Dad’s. He had some surprises up his sleeve! As we walked into the apartment, we were told to cover our eyes while Dad went to fetch something from somewhere in the apartment. When he came back, he showed us two huge bean bags, the kind you sit on/in. We figured they’d be nice to use in front of the TV. Dad told us they were indeed intended for that use, but not just to watch TV. After that, he showed us the box to our latest gaming toy, the Sony Playstation 3! Nice stuff! Ratchet & Clank, Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet and Need for Speed – The Run were the initial titles he had gotten for us. Very nice!

On December 30th, aunt Katja came around to check out the apartment and to pick us up for another fun filled evening. We went to “Hovet” to watch Katja’s favorite team, Djurgården (DIF) take on Luleå for an action packed Hockey game. The surprise had been a well kept secret, and we had a blast. Unfortunately “our” favorite team (DIF) took a beating, but I think Katja was more disappointed than us.

Mom came over for New Year’s Eve; Dad cooked for all of us, and then we watched some of the fireworks around this part of Stockholm. We were quite tired when it was time to hit the bed around 01:00, but at least we didn’t fall asleep at 21:30 like we did the previous year! LOL

On the second day of 2012, we went to Heron City with Dad to watch Happy Feet 2 in 3D. Having liked the first Happy Feet movie, we were really looking forward to the sequel. Dad made it into a whole day of activities with everything from clothes shopping, a visit to IKEA, a proper burger meal, and a visit to the gaming arcade at Heron City before the movie. All in all, great stuff!

That pretty much concludes our first week in this place, as well as the first few days of 2012.

Fall/Autumn holidays 2011

This week, we’ve had our yearly autumn holidays, but the past five days have been anything but lazy. On Monday, Mom took us to the cinema to see Tintin. On Tuesday, we went on a cruise to Helsinki with Dad, where we also visited Sea Life. We got back from Helsinki on Thursday, and on Friday, we went for a visit to the Kaknästower (Kaknästornet). Filip had never been there, and he was quite impressed to have cake and Fanta some 140 m above the ground!

Having time off from school can be really hectic :-)

The National Museum of Science and Technology

Today was the last day of our Autumn Holidays. Dad took time off from work to have a full day of activities with us. First we went to the National Museum of  Technology of Science, and then we had a huge (and very delicious) burger meal at Max. To round off a perfect day, Dad had gotten us tickets to the movie Avatar, the Last Airbender 3D. Wow.. we think all days should be like this! You can check out some pictures from our awesome day here.

Two-week summary of bliss

Two weeks of pure joy in the archipelago with Dad has come to pass. It can be summarized with the following words: sun, water, BBQ, ice cream, laughter, fun, repeat! We’ve been on boat rides, we’ve been swimming and playing in the water, we’ve even managed a trip to Norrtälje.

Now we’re looking forward to another four weeks of holidays on Blidö, and Mom is going to be here too!

Filip the diver

The Diver

From the Filip goes swimming development department, we can now report that the soon-to-be 7-year old is swimming (albeit under water), snorkling, and making skilled jumps into the water from the docks.

School’s out for Summer!

Alright .. 0-grade and 3rd grade handled, done, and over with!

We’ll now be chillin’, swimmin’, and eating tons of ice cream! In a few weeks time it’s Football Academy time for a week, which we’re both looking forward to. But for now, it’ll be a few weeks of being really lazy, and proud of it! :-)

Helsinki

It was way overdue, Dad had been nagging about it since .. well, since Alexander was a few months old. So when it was time for Mom’s 49th birthday, we decided to kill two birds with one stone (poor birds) and decided to go to Helsinki for a 36 hour cruise. We spent a lot of the time in the Spa with Dad while we were still on the boat. When we got to Helsinki, it was morning and we went out on town. We got some Smurfs and had an awesome lunch. We also went to a few department stores, and then headed back to the boat. These things are huge (!), and there are so many things to do. Of course, we headed back to the Spa with Dad for some more water time! :-)

You can check out our photos from the trip in our album; album.homrighausen.se

Summer haircuts!

Heading to Norrtälje, we all (well, Dad, Filip and Alexander anyway) thought it’d be a good idea to get the real Summer-2009-vibes going by finally getting a real haircut! :-)
