Almost exactly one year ago, Mom and Dad gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. The certificate entitled me to a full hour in a fighter jet simulator. We kept pushing the event booking ahead of us until Dad realized it would expire if we didn’t do something about it. So we booked the event for today, and now today has finally arrived.
I was very anxious and had no idea what to expect. Once we came to SweSim in Årsta, just outside of Stockholm, we walked into something that can be best described as a garage. There was gear everywhere, but it was obvious that this is where the action was. We were greeted by our host who was a very cool dude. He took his time explaining what to do, what to expect, etc. And after about 15 minutes of introduction, it was time to climb into the cockpit of, it turned out, a JA37 Viggen (look it up).
45 minutes later, I had a huge grin on my face that simply wouldn’t fall off!

Technically speaking, it’s not until tomorrow, but what the heck … we had some most welcome visitors (Tanya, Dan, Oscar, Victor, and Aunt Yvonne) over, so we might as well celebrate one day early, right?
