JA37 Viggen Flight Simulator

Almost exactly one year ago, Mom and Dad gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. The certificate entitled me to a full hour in a fighter jet simulator. We kept pushing the event booking ahead of us until Dad realized it would expire if we didn’t do something about it. So we booked the event for today, and now today has finally arrived.

I was very anxious and had no idea what to expect. Once we came to SweSim in Årsta, just outside of Stockholm, we walked into something that can be best described as a garage. There was gear everywhere, but it was obvious that this is where the action was. We were greeted by our host who was a very cool dude. He took his time explaining what to do, what to expect, etc. And after about 15 minutes of introduction, it was time to climb into the cockpit of, it turned out, a JA37 Viggen (look it up).

45 minutes later, I had a huge grin on my face that simply wouldn’t fall off! :-)

Texas Longhorn

For my 12th birthday, the whole family went to Texas Longhorn on Kungsholmen to grab some serious burgers (and, of course, cake). We had onion rings, huge burgers, a lot of Fanta (though Mom and Dad had beers), and some yummy dessert. When we were done, we all went back to Mom’s place where Dad put my new smartphone (!) into working order. It was an awesome Friday and a nice family birthday party. On the 19th, it’s time for a second round when we hit the Go Kart circuit!

Happy 12th Birthday Alexander!

Today, 12 years and nine months ago, something awesome happened. Though I am reasonably well versed in the art of writing, it is way beyond my capabilities to put into words how much this event, and those that followed have changed my life. Nine months later, I experienced an event that can best be described as a frontal collision with a bus, although nowhere near as painful. I became your father.

Thank you Alexander for all the things you have showed me.
Thank you Alexander for all the things you have taught me.
Thank you Alexander for all the things you have given me.

Thank you Alexander.

Despite all my faults and errors of the past, and the flaws of present, and those mistakes I will make in the future, I will always love you, and I will always put my soul into helping you to the best of my abilities.

I love you dude, HoBo Alexander.SE!

Happy Birthday Alexander.

-DAD

Visit from Aunt Katja

Aunt Katja turned up on thursday. Dad went to pick her up at the Boda bus stop. She had a lot of gifts with her, and not just for me! For the first time in a long while, she spent more than a couple of hours here :-) Today Dad dropped her off at the Archipelago boat taking her to Stockholm. We had several awesome days; swimming in the Baltic, boat rides, and more! Awesome visit!

The Big 8

Technically speaking, it’s not until tomorrow, but what the heck … we had some most welcome visitors (Tanya, Dan, Oscar, Victor, and Aunt Yvonne) over, so we might as well celebrate one day early, right? :-) Delicious cake, wonderful company and some truly awesome gifts! What more could one wish for on one’s 8th birthday?
