Christmas without Santa?

In a previous post, Filip voiced his doubts about Santa’s be or not to be. Come Christmas Eve, which is when we normally expect a visit from the white bearded guy, Mom chose to inform us of the fact that Santa would not be paying us a visit while we were awake.

The reason we were given was that Santa’s reindeer were too tired to make it all the way out here (Blidö). Fair enough, but on the morning of Christmas Eve, there was a pile of Christmas gifts waiting for us. So I guess the reindeer or Santa somehow managed to arrange for the delivery! Woo-hoo!

Summer haircuts!

Heading to Norrtälje, we all (well, Dad, Filip and Alexander anyway) thought it’d be a good idea to get the real Summer-2009-vibes going by finally getting a real haircut! :-)

Winter holidays

Dad and I have spent one week by ourselves at our cottage on Blidö (an island in the Stockholm archipelago). It was my first time ever away from Mom and Filip for such a long time. But dad is a clever dude and found some very basic and very enjoyable activities.

We took long walks in the deepest of forests, played Nintendo Wii, had a lot of yummy food (and “coffee breaks”). We managed to get some homework done too actually. On one of our excursions we saw five deers in the woods. Very exciting!

It was a week filled with very simple living.

Dad also hooked us up on Skype with the webcam, so we had a videochat with Mom and Filip every evening for a few minutes.

Awesome holidays!

Police Station

2007 here I come! What a great year 2006 has been for me, and what better way to end it than with some well deserved rest during Christmas and New Year’s. The gifts for Christmas were wonderful (and quite a few). The best one was a Lego Police Station. I also got a portable radio, a walkman I think you call them, as well as a CD player for my room; this means I don’t have to sneak into Alexander’s room to play my music!

Santa Claus was not as scary as last year, and for some odd reason, he reminded me a lot of dad. I’ve got a sneaking suspicion I’ll find out more about all that in the coming years.

We’re spending the last few days of 2006 on Blidö. Tomorrow we’ll be shooting up fireworks! Just imagine, in seven months, I’ll be four years old. Fantastic!

Blidö visit with the boys

I just got back from a two day road trip to Blidö with Göran and Dad. We figured we’d get away from everyone and everything, and I think my dad really needed the break. There’s been just a "tad" too much work lately. We had a blast! You’ll find some pictures of the event here

Summer is a party!

I guess you can say this is one the first summer holidays I will have a real memory of. I sure had a good time, and did so many things I’m not sure I can remember them all (hmm.. what was that about memory?).

I got to go to a real circus, and ride on one of their horses. They had a clown there that I talked to, he was a lot of fun. I had a lot of visitors, and had a great birthday party. Mona, Håkan, Yvonne, and my grandmoter ("Mommo") all turned up for the party, in addition to dad, mom, and Alexander of course. I’m now an official (and mighty) three years old.

We made a lot of trips with Katti, our new boat. That was really exciting! On one trip back from Norröra (one of the islands where they recorded "Saltkråkan"), the waves were really high and I got drenched; but I was laughing at it and just had a great time. Anna and Alex were also in the boat as they had come to visit me that day.

I had my doubts about swimming in the sea at first, but after having slipped on the dock ladder and fallen into the water, I learned just how well my life jacket works :-)

I also started speaking a little bit more english, much to my dad’s content.

Glorious summer holidays

Trying to sum up these summer holidays in a reasonable amount of space will be very hard :-) In short, they’ve been fantastic! Every chance we got, we went out with Katti, our new boat. We went to visit "Saltkråkan" (recorded on the islands of Norröra and Söderöra in the Stockholm archipelago), we went to a real cirkus, we visited Norrtälje (a nice smallish town north of Stockholm), we had some nice visitors, and I did a lot of swimming in the sea.

In addition to this, dad and I built an airplane out of left-over wood pieces, and I got to practice som soccer. I also learned how to play badminton, which was cool.

One of the coolest things was to run off the docks and jump into the water with my life jacket on! I also spent a lot of time playing my with my brother; teasing him can be quite fun, specially when my mom and dad hit the roof!
