Victory!

Today, it finally happened; we won our first tournament game (S:t Eriks Cupen). The match ended 3-2 in our favor, and it was a truly sensational experience! We played very well and were all very focused on the mission. We scored the first goal, and then the other team went to 1-1. We scored again to 2-1, and then we let them back into the game at 2-2. I felt fairly certain that we were going to score the next goal, and when we did, it was fantastic! Victory sure makes the post-game ice cream taste so much better!

Visiting Norrtälje

Every time we’re on Summer Holidays on Blidö, we visit the closest town, Norrtälje, a few times. This year is no exception. And as tradition has it, we usually get pretty nice weather when visiting Norrtälje. Apart from eating some serious ice cream, we also managed to find new shoes for Filip, and look at some computer games for Alexander.

Waterfun

Today was the first day with just us and Dad these Summer Holidays; needless to say we spent a lot of time down by the water. Swimming, jumping, filming (with the GoPro), and having a blast in general.

There’s a pile of rocks some 50-75m out in the water that Alexander wants to swim out to. Dad told him it was OK only if we did some practice runs in more shallow water. So Alexander practiced like a madman (!); he did eleven laps of 25m for a total of 275m. Not bad at all.

Filip continued to improve on his swimming, both on and below the surface. We spent a total of four hours by the water. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it, right? :-)

Visit from Aunt Katja

Aunt Katja turned up on thursday. Dad went to pick her up at the Boda bus stop. She had a lot of gifts with her, and not just for me! For the first time in a long while, she spent more than a couple of hours here :-) Today Dad dropped her off at the Archipelago boat taking her to Stockholm. We had several awesome days; swimming in the Baltic, boat rides, and more! Awesome visit!

The Big 8

Technically speaking, it’s not until tomorrow, but what the heck … we had some most welcome visitors (Tanya, Dan, Oscar, Victor, and Aunt Yvonne) over, so we might as well celebrate one day early, right? :-) Delicious cake, wonderful company and some truly awesome gifts! What more could one wish for on one’s 8th birthday?

Welcome Bowie!

Yesterday we finally picked up our Miniature Lop (“Dvärgvädur”). We named him Bowie already at the store! :-) There were a zillion things we had to get for Bowie. One cage for the apartment, one for the cottage, and a heap of other things. He was actually a little bit too young to take home, but the store owner wasn’t there, so no one could ask him if it was ok or not. We’ll see how it goes :-) He has, of course, his own photo album, you can find it here: album.homrighausen.se/Family/pets/bowie/.

Long Archipelago Weekend

This last weekend we finally got a long weekend at the cottage; there were no football matches, no birthday parties, and no other scheduled activities. Whoa! We were very fortunate with the weather and spent a lot of time playing with water balloons. Dad and Alexander played several games of Pentago, something which they both enjoy a lot.

Sollentuna Mall

Today was a long and sunny day. First we went to the Sollentunavallen Football pitch to watch Alexander’s Karlbergs BK P00 team play against Sollentuna. The, unfortunately, lost the game 1-4. After that, we hit the Sollentuna Mall to look for new shin pads for Alexander and some new shorts for Filip. Dad walked around looking for shorts and sunglasses, but he couldn’t find any that he liked – he’s quite picky, despite his appearance :-) .

We had a nice meal in the food court at the Mall, and then we went for some coffee and cake at Wayne’s Coffee. When we came home, we spent a few more hours outside before rounding off the evening with a light meal. All in all, a tremendous Sunday.
