Re-organizing house

For the past two weeks, things have been a mess here at home. The biggest reason is because Mom and Dad finally decided to throw out a lot of old furniture (and replace it), give three rooms a new coat of paint, and move us into the same bedroom (!).

The reasoning behind it being that we mainly sleep in our bedroom and want a dedicated room for our computers or “home office”.

So, things are a little bit out of order here .. it feels a little like camping, but we do have our new beds setup at least and things are moving along nicely. We’ll let you know when you can view the progress in our photo album.

Cold season

Well, so far we’ve spent the better part of two weeks with running noses and coughing. No football, and very little other activity. Hopefully things will improve soon. Alexander is getting cranky because he’s missing out on football.

Ettagluttare

Just a quick note to everyone that I’m officially an “Ettagluttare” (translated: “first grader”) this fall. So far, school has been great. We’re slowly but surely beginning to get homework (mainly math so far). It’s quite exciting. There are a few too many children in our class, but I hope our teacher (Gun) can keep things organized.

We’ll also be having gym class for real, which is fun.

All in all, I guess you could say school has begun for real!

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma Tora!

This weekend we went to Forshaga near Karlstad in Värmland. The roadtrip was brought on by our Grandma Tora’s 90th birthday! A big part of the family on Mom’s side came to honor the oldest lady of them all, as well as a somewhat younger Ronja, who celebrated her 20th birthday at the same time. It was a blast, and we got to meet a lot of people we don’t see so often.

We stayed with aunt Yvonne who lives in Forshaga as well.

You can check out photos from the party in our photo album!

On our way back from Forshaga, we stopped by one of Dad’s colleagues, Mats, who lives in Skattkärr with his family. Mats had a really cool trampoline mat (jumping mat), and we had a lot of fun with it together with Mats’ two children, H&M.

Wood carving

After talking to Dad about it, it was decided that we were to get our very own wood carving knives! So when we went to Norrtälje today, Dad looked around the hardware store and finally found something suitable. He initially wanted the more traditional handle with protectors on both sides, but the clerk at the store said they were hard to find. It’s a lot of fun to work with wood carving, and you can make all sorts of things out of an ordinary piece of wood with just a sharp knife and some imagination.

Birthday Party

What a day! I’m now officially seven years of age, and I feel completely exhausted already! :-) Today has been filled with fun and laughter, a lot of sweet stuff to eat, and many gifts.

Hyper Dash was a cool game I got from my relative Birk & Co. I also got some money from Göran’s mom and dad, a lot of new Lego to build wonderful stuff with, two Wii Games (Mario Galaxy 2 and Anubis 2) as well as my own (and first) digital camera (a Canon Ixus 110; which is a perfect fit for my rather small hands)!

I guess I should have figured out this day would be great.. I mean, how could a day that starts with cold cocoa-milk and a peanut butter sandwich become anything but a great success!?

Party on!

Two-week summary of bliss

Two weeks of pure joy in the archipelago with Dad has come to pass. It can be summarized with the following words: sun, water, BBQ, ice cream, laughter, fun, repeat! We’ve been on boat rides, we’ve been swimming and playing in the water, we’ve even managed a trip to Norrtälje.

Now we’re looking forward to another four weeks of holidays on Blidö, and Mom is going to be here too!

Filip the diver

The Diver

From the Filip goes swimming development department, we can now report that the soon-to-be 7-year old is swimming (albeit under water), snorkling, and making skilled jumps into the water from the docks.
