Awesome holidays!

Police Station

2007 here I come! What a great year 2006 has been for me, and what better way to end it than with some well deserved rest during Christmas and New Year’s. The gifts for Christmas were wonderful (and quite a few). The best one was a Lego Police Station. I also got a portable radio, a walkman I think you call them, as well as a CD player for my room; this means I don’t have to sneak into Alexander’s room to play my music!

Santa Claus was not as scary as last year, and for some odd reason, he reminded me a lot of dad. I’ve got a sneaking suspicion I’ll find out more about all that in the coming years.

We’re spending the last few days of 2006 on Blidö. Tomorrow we’ll be shooting up fireworks! Just imagine, in seven months, I’ll be four years old. Fantastic!

Lucia 2006

At last, Lucia was here!

This year I actually managed to sing and enjoy myself instead of running to my parents and hide. Maybe it’s beacuse I’m approaching the mature age of 3 1/2 that things no longer feel so intimidating :-) I was wearing a class santa outfit, and Dad was there to take pictures.

When we had finished singing our fabulous songs to the parents, we got to pig out on "lussebulla", gingerbread cookies, and sweets. After an hour or so, we went home to await Mom and Alexander who had done pretty much the same thing, but at Alexander’s school.

Christmas, here we come!

Halloween 2006

Halloween came to our daycare too this year! I was a little bit jealous of Alexander with all his talk about their Halloween party at school, but today it was my turn.

We had candy and cake for what felt like all day. I got to borrow some of Alexander’s used halloween gear.

I too enjoyed dad’s green pancakes yesterday, but I think what impressed me the most was the ghost milk he served with them.. it looked so cool with green milk!!!

The age of no diapers

Well.. the trying-to-ditch-the-diaper routine is moving along nicely. Of course, the word "nicely" is a relative term and its meaning depends on who you ask :-) Mom and dad are thanking someone "up there" for the fact that we have a washing machine in the apartment! Sleeping a full night without "accidents" is an exercise we take step-by-step, but that too is proving to be a minor obstacle on the path to complete "dryness"!

For some reason, I do seem to be on the edge recently. Perhaps that is a side effect of the age of no diapers. Almost every day I have big and heated arguments with mom and dad about things I feel are very important. For example, I like to stand up when I eat, jumping in the sofa while watching TV, insisting on not going to bed on time, and be a general pain the rear when it comes to just about any every-day-issue. No need to worry about me though, I’m having a blast!

Summer is a party!

I guess you can say this is one the first summer holidays I will have a real memory of. I sure had a good time, and did so many things I’m not sure I can remember them all (hmm.. what was that about memory?).

I got to go to a real circus, and ride on one of their horses. They had a clown there that I talked to, he was a lot of fun. I had a lot of visitors, and had a great birthday party. Mona, Håkan, Yvonne, and my grandmoter ("Mommo") all turned up for the party, in addition to dad, mom, and Alexander of course. I’m now an official (and mighty) three years old.

We made a lot of trips with Katti, our new boat. That was really exciting! On one trip back from Norröra (one of the islands where they recorded "Saltkråkan"), the waves were really high and I got drenched; but I was laughing at it and just had a great time. Anna and Alex were also in the boat as they had come to visit me that day.

I had my doubts about swimming in the sea at first, but after having slipped on the dock ladder and fallen into the water, I learned just how well my life jacket works :-)

I also started speaking a little bit more english, much to my dad’s content.

End of day care

Today, we had our end-of-day-care party where we invited all the parents for cookies and coffee.

We sang songs that we had been practicing for many weeks. Well, when it came down to it, I didn’t actually feel like standing in front of everybody and sing, but I listened.. that’s gotta count for something, right?

Among the songs I like the most is Ida’s summer tune, a song about a flea making soup ("Liten loppa kokar soppa"), and one about making mashed fruit :-)

This isn’t actually the last day of day care before the summer break, but we’re getting there!

Springtime

Moving into spring has been a good experience. I’m making many new friends at my day care and we’re starting to practice for the "summer finals" where we’ll be singing songs and inviting our parents to a little party.

We’ve also begun another round of trying-to-ditch-the-diaper routine, it’s going so-so. Mom and dad have to make sure I have plenty of extra clothing on my shelf :-)

As we approach summer, mom and dad are beginning to talk more and more about Blidö. Alexander is mostly talking about football these days.

Tricycle!

Having been using our apartment as the proving grounds for my mean tricycle, it was finally time to take it outside for a ride today. Equipped with the latest and state-of-the-art protection gear (that being a helmet) and a determination that could bend iron, I set out on my nine-thousand-laps-around-the-yard race. Mom kept running after me telling me to go slow. She must not be tuned right or something.. who wants to go slow on this thing?! Vrooooooooooooooooom!

Flexitrax

Having discovered many nice toys in Alexander’s room, I have now settled on his FlexiTrax system. I don’t know how many different sets my big brother has, but it’s "a few" to put it mildly.

The best part is that I’ve managed to convince mom and dad that I must be in Alexander’s room when playing with the ‘trax; that way I can poke around all his other toys :-)

Having spent hours playing with the cars (and making my dad thank some greater power that he has invested in rechargeables), I’ve now come to the point that Alexander agreed to trade his ‘trax for a yet-to-be-determined product.

It’s an excellent deal, mom and dad makes me "inherit" a complete set with five or six cars and all.. and then they promise Alexander something in exchange — and I don’t have to do anything to get it, apart from being me, and how hard is that?!?!
