Learning to fly

There are many special periods in a person’s life; when you learn to walk, when you learn to talk, and so on.. I already walk and talk, of course, but this month, things are really beginning to speed up.

I’m beginning to make my surroundings aware of my needs and my demands :-)

My days are filled with new words, both English and Swedish.. I think I’m getting the hang of this.

Taking my feet off

Whenever winter approaches, mom and dad start getting worried about my feet being cold while I’m sleeping. My room in our apartment isn’t all that warm and our fabulous landlord doesn’t seem to have a clue. So mom and dad keep whining about the fact that nobody manufactures pyjamases for "bigger boys" than "babies" (I stopped being a baby a loooong time ago, of course) with "feet" on them.

Putting socks on me isn’t really a solution either since I take them off one second after mom or dad has left the room. So mom found this sleepwear that look like "pantyhose" — for boys, they’re blue, thank you very much — which, of course, have feet on them. After having been put to bed, I decided to try taking them off too. When dad came in sometime elevenish in the evening, I had managed not only to remove the pantyhose, but also my diapers! Sleeping like a baby, without a thread of clothing on!

Somehow, dad managed to put the diapers back on, and to get me dressed without waking me up. So when I woke up, I was dressed as when I went to bed!

Dinosaur goes TV

We used to have a nice 29" Sony Trinitron TV. I say "used to" because dad has carried it downstairs to the recycling place. I wanted to see what would happen if a dinosaur (T-Rex) slammed into the TV at full force. So five minutes before kids TV started, I had a go at it.

Needless to say everybody was very pleased with me. I made the "Standby light" on the TV start flashing in all kinds of weird patterns. My dad taught me many new words, and then he got into the car and drove off; mumbling something about  replacing me with a very expensive TV.

You can read what my dad really thought about it here.

Teletubbies in the big blue house

Since I’m approaching the mature age of two this summer, I’ve recently started to show interest in some TV-shows that my dad insist on serving. The favorite at the moment (attention span record is seven minutes) is Bear in the Big Blue House; with Teletubbies running a close second.

Since my dad insists on only speaking English to me and Alexander, most TV-shows that he lets me watch are in the same language.
