On my ninth Christmas..

.. I received:

  • a new electrical toothbrush, quite cool!
  • the Wii games LEGO Indiana Jones 2, New Super Mario Bros, and Star Wars – the Clone Wars
  • the Avatar game for my Nintendo DS

So far, I’m spending a lot of time on the Nintendo Wii with all of the new games. I’ve already finished the Clone Wars game. Mom was a bit surprised, but I guess that’s what happens when you play for several hours every day :-)

Filip, myself, and Dad are playing a lot of LEGO Indiana Jones 2, although Dad insists on calling him “Indy” and telling me that there are some classic movies to be seen when I’m old enough :-)

Christmas without Santa?

In a previous post, Filip voiced his doubts about Santa’s be or not to be. Come Christmas Eve, which is when we normally expect a visit from the white bearded guy, Mom chose to inform us of the fact that Santa would not be paying us a visit while we were awake.

The reason we were given was that Santa’s reindeer were too tired to make it all the way out here (Blidö). Fair enough, but on the morning of Christmas Eve, there was a pile of Christmas gifts waiting for us. So I guess the reindeer or Santa somehow managed to arrange for the delivery! Woo-hoo!

Snowfun!

20091219_snowfunAlexander’s friend Måns called this morning to ask if Alexander wanted to come out and race with his Snow Racer, now that we finally got some real snow! When Dad walked down to the basement to fetch Alexander’s Snow Racer, he ran into Måns’ dad, Christer, who asked if I wanted to come along as well. Since Mom was going to town to shop, Dad went along with us. It turns out there were a lot of kids there!

hot-chocolateWe had a blast for several hours; after a while, Måns’ Mom (Irina) turned up with hot chocolate and hot dogs. We took a quick foodie break and then it was back in the slopes again. When we came home, Dad made us sandwiches and real hot chocolate (cocoa, muscovado sugar, vanilla sugar, cream, and milk) .. yum!

All in all, a wonderful day out in the snow!

Stubbornness

Carrot“The quality or state of being stubbornly inflexible”

Today, dad served carrots with the pesto & gnocchi. Filip loves carrots, I don’t. I was going to go out with my friends to play footie, but dad said I had to eat the carrots as well. I said no, dad said I could sit at the table until I had eaten the carrots or it was time for bed.

So far, I’ve been sitting in the kitchen for an hour and fortyfive minutes; needless to say, I haven’t eaten the carrots. Unfortunately for me, my dad isn’t budging, so I guess I’ll be sitting out here until it’s bedtime.

Filip has volunteered to eat my carrots, but dad isn’t buying.

On Sunday, I’m playing two matches.

Things are slowly returning to normal :-)

School’s out!

I no longer consider myself a second-grader! With yet another full school year completed, I’m now looking forward to (two) football camps, summer holidays in the archipelago, and of course, a lot of ice cream! It’s summer time!!!

My first e-shopper experience

E-shopWoohoo! Today I became an official e-shopper!

I asked Dad about a site a friend of mine had told me about; after some guessing and searching, we found the site I had been told about. They had wicked cool stuff, like Pokémon cards, LEGO Wearables, and more.

After having browsed the e-shop a bit, I decided on some GoGo’s Crazy Bones. And now I just have to sit and wait by the mailbox. Would you believe you can do all this stuff from your computer?! It’s truly amazing.

The archipelago moose

Moose

Moose

When we arrived at our cottage this evening, Dad spotted two moose from the road; it was Mama Moose and Baby Moose that had decided to have a snack (!).

Mom and Dad tried to scare it away, but the moose would have none of it, until Dad threw one of his rubber boots on Mama Moose. They sure are big and impressive animals. You can see two pictures in our album here.

Going to school

ClockWell, I guess it was just a matter of time. But I am now officially allowed to walk to school by myself in the mornings!

That must mean I’m getting bigger, or something.

What’s more, I’m allowed to walk home from school by myself too! :-)

As is the procedure before the beginning of every season, I had to get myself a new pair of football shoes, and some new shin pads. Outdoor football season begins on wednesday, here I go! :-)
